A exciting next career move for a professional with financial skills and who can build bridges, acting as a business partner to Knab's Board members & leadership team. This role is also an exciting opportunity for someone entrepreneurial with a passion for building things.

As a Business Controller you are an important link between Finance and Business. It is therefore second nature for you to perform the right financial (and non-financial) analyses with the aim of providing the best possible information for the organization. Every month the team coordinates the monthly closing and organizes the planning & control cycle. This enables you to challenge and support the business in a proactive manner.

We are on a journey to further professionalize our department and although we have made huge progress in the last two years, we see a lot of exciting challenges ahead of us. Business Control is in the center of the organization, touching each part of Knab growing business, with a short line to the Procurement and Vendor management team. This also offers further opportunities to align and better control the finances of Knab. Moreover, together with teams such as Capital Management we are building on our asset strategy as well as sophisticated modelling to forecast and control Knab's financial position.

You'll be part of a team that consists of 4 business controllers, and you'll report to the Head of Business Control, Financial Strategy and Procurement Tom Thiadens.

In the position of Business Controller you are responsible for:

  • Financial business partner to provide adequate management information to help steer the growth of Knab;
  • Challenging and monitoring the business performance and supporting development and planning of business cases;
  • (Supporting) the monthly closing cycle, production and KPI reports;
  • (Supporting) setting up and monitoring of the budget and forecast cycles;
  • Weaponizing data through financial modelling;
  • Optimize and automate management reports together with the team.

Your profile
There is no blueprint for being successful in this role, but we have the following profile in mind:

  • Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance or business economics or similar academic programs;
  • 4-7 years of experience in a financial role (e.g. financial / business controller);
  • Fluent in both English and Dutch;
  • Eager, independent and proactive;
  • Affinity with FinTech and Innovation;
  • Work experience within banking and / or financial services is a plus.
