In a nutshell
As a Data Architect you play a crucial role in managing data as a strategic asset by envisioning, communicating, and evolving the data architecture of the bank.​ Data architecture function establishes consistency in definition and use of data throughout Knab.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Define data and analytics target state architecture and play a lead role in definition and execution of the Knab Data management roadmap;
  • Translate Knab business model into conceptual and logical data models;
  • Establish data taxonomies and model ontologies that are critical to ensuring the meaning of data is precise and unambiguous;
  • Define Enterprise Data Architecture principles, policies and standards;
  • Ensure adherence to Data Architecture policies and standards by working with project teams;
  • Form a vision on innovative data applications, e.g., AI/ML;
  • Align Data Architecture with Enterprise/Business and IT Architecture;
  • Advise the CDAO and business stakeholders, both on request and on own initiative, on improvements to the data architecture.​

The Team
The Expert Center Data (Data and Analytics Office) department consists of 26 data professionals with a big heart for the business value of data, covering the following domains Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Quality,  Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence. The department works with all functions of Knab.  

The Expert Center Data is playing a key role in managing Knab data as a strategic business asset and achieving a consistent and uniform view of information based on quality data.

As Data Architect you will directly report to our Chief Data and Analytics Officer, and you will have a functional reporting line to our Enterprise Architect. You will work closely with the Architecture team to ensure alignment on Architecture direction.

Your Profile
There is no predefined route to become a great Data Architect at Knab. But to be successful in this role, this is the kind of profile we have in mind:

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Management, Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science);
  • Minimum 5 years of Data Architecture experience in banking/financial services industry;
  • Confirmed knowledge of data management frameworks ( e.g DCAM, DAMA DMBOK);
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF; certification is an advantage;
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including strong facilitation and persuasion skills, verbal reasoning skills to enable you to communicate complex topics in simple terms;
  • Experience with data analytics and data warehouses;
  • Experience with regulations and standards (ex. BCBS 239);
  • Knowledge of Data Management and Analytics emerging trends;
  • Very good English language skills both written and verbal.
