In a nutshell

The credit risk management function facilitates the implementation of a sound risk management framework throughout Knab and further identifies, monitors, analyses, measures, manages and reports on all credit risks and forms a holistic view on all these risks. CRM also challenges and assists in the implementation of credit risk management measures by the business in order to ensure that the process and controls in place at the first line of defence are properly designed and effective.

The CRM team is involved in model running as well as model development; on a daily basis we monitor and challenge the credit risk position of Knab and we continually strive to do this even better. We do this using a variety of tooling, including mathematical models, and we look to enhance our team with a dedicated modelling and model management professional. A great opportunity to broaden and deepen your modelling skills while learning a lot about banks, financial services, the fintech ecosystem and (credit) risk management.

Your main responsibilities;

  • You will develop data driven models in RStudio and SQL;
  • You will develop, monitor, and improve models for measuring and managing our credit risk. This includes IFRS9, economic capital and stress testing models;
  • You will support the broader company by contributing to further improving our credit risk reporting suite; and
  • Your skills will be used to support and manage operational relationships with our fintech partners.

Team
The Credit Risk Management team (CRM) within Knab consists of 9 dedicated risk specialists who maintain the credit risk framework of the bank. We work closely with other teams within the bank. Joining the Knab Risk team you work together with ambitious colleagues and we provide you with a stimulating environment. The CRM team is part of the Risk and Compliance team. As credit risk manager modelling you work on a daily basis in the Credit Risk Modelling team and ultimately report to the Lead Credit Risk Management Henk-Jelle Reitsma.

Profile
We are looking for an energetic, proactive new team member who will add value to the model landscape and push its design and use to the next level.

Furthermore;

  • Masters degree with a strong quantitative component (econometrics, physics, mathematics, or similar);
  • 0 – 2 years' work experience within the financial industry;
  • Excellent coding skills in e.g. R, MATLAB or Python;
  • Sound knowledge of statistical modelling and econometric methods;
  • Analytical abilities that help us to develop innovative solutions;
  • You have experience (or want to develop) in credit risk modelling; and
  • Team player who can adapt and learn at a quick pace.
  • Track-record in project/change management, ideally in an Agile environment, is a plus;
  • Knowledge of various regulations and regulatory bodies that govern banks and fintechs is a plus.
