In a nutshell
As Procurement & Vendor Management Lead you are responsible for the activities within the Procurement & Vendor Management team. It is essential that you safeguard that Knab is in control of its third party relations, (out) sourcing risk and that the Procurement & Vendor Management function acts as enabler for cost control and innovation throughout the organization. You are a proficient all-round procurement specialist with proven experience of Supplier Lifecycle Management within Banking and Finance industry. You are an expert in negotiations, contracting, outsourcing, relationship management, compliance and risk management to minimize risks and threats to Knab and its customers. You are actively participating in the team by managing your own scope, supplier relationships and agreements next to the supervising activities.

 Your responsibilities:

  • Set and execute a clear direction and sustainable vision for the Procurement & Vendor Management department that matches with the strategic direction of Knab;
  • Mobilize, inspire and support team members to contribute towards objectives and personal development goals;
  • Ensure that the team is in control of day-to-day activities and in control of (material) outsourcing relations and secure regulatory requirements and identified risks by implementing and managing suitable processes and controls;
  • Safeguarding business continuity and cost/quality ratios by supporting the team to explore options for synergies, cost savings, innovation, optimization of terms and conditions and improvement of existing services;
  • Apply best value procurement and monitor and evaluate the compliance and the performance of material suppliers on tactical and strategic level (e.g., through relationship management, by maintaining control & action plans and performing health checks) within your own scope of agreements;
  • Initiate mitigating measures in case of escalations, increased risk profile or potential reputational damage from third party agreements.

The team
The Procurement & Vendor Management team currently exists of four Procurement Specialists and one Procurement Support colleague. This team is taking care of external, intra-group and outsourcing relations for Knab and is positioned within the CFO domain.

Your profile
As we mentioned before, there is no blueprint for being successful in this role, but we have the following profile in mind:

  • A Bachelor or Master degree with at least 5- 8 years of experience in Procurement or similar commercial roles;
  • A strong professional with an ability to lead and inspire others. Hands on mentality and strong in stakeholder management. Familiar with the Procurement Lifecycle and underlying activities;
  • You have knowledge of legislation and regulations in the banking and finance industry, specifically with regards to outsourcing risk;
  • You look outside of the box, demonstrate analytical capacity and good communication and interpersonal skills (e.g., clearly formulating opinion, showing critical thinking, etc.);
  • You are fluent in English and have knowledge of Dutch (minimal B1 level).
