Our Financial Risk Management (FRM) team is at the core of this mission by monitoring and challenging the market, credit and liquidity risk positions of Knab as well as adherence to relevant regulations. The Team 

The FRM team is the vigilant guardian of Knab's financial stability. We are the second line of defense, working in tandem with the business to ensure that market risks are understood, manageable, and well-controlled. Our team brings together the best of both worlds - technical expertise and human intelligence.

The FRM team is part of the Risk and Compliance team and consists of the following domains:

• Data &Reporting; 
• Model Development;
• IRRBB & CSRBB;
• Credit Risk;
• Liquidity and Capital Management;

This role is within the Data & Reporting domain and ultimately reports to the Head of Financial Risk Management, Bas Bakker.

The Role

As a member of the FRM team at the mid-level, your responsibilities will encompass an in-depth understanding of financial risk management, including:

• Advanced Risk Monitoring: Dive deep into monitoring and analyzing market, credit and liquidity risk, being able to explain what is driving the numbers; Adjusting reporting processes based on business management decisions and needs.
• Internal communications: Ability to effectively communicate with different specialists, ranging from data experts to modelling specialists.
• Ownership: Take the lead in essential activities, including model updates, risk analysis, and reviews, managing and mitigating complex risk scenarios and providing impactful recommendations.
• In-Depth Understanding: Develop a profound understanding of potential impacts related to market, credit and liquidity risks, actively advising on well-informed decisions to effectively address potential risks. Understand how to calculate the metrics based on the available data.
  
• Continuous Improvement: Be able to rationalize and improve information in the existing reports. 
• Infrastructure Oversight: Oversee and support the financial risk infrastructure (including Ambit Focus).
• Technical skills: Review code changes in R, write queries (SQL), and create graphs in Tableau; Ensure proper data sourcing through close collaboration with data management.

Your Profile

We are looking for a motivated professional with ambitions to grow in the field of financial risk and the following qualifications:

• A university degree in a quantitative discipline (finance, economics, mathematics or related field), preferably you hold a risk certification (e.g. FRM)
• At least 5 years of proven working experience in financial risk management or Treasury
• Skills in programming languages (R, Python and SQL) and dashboarding tools (such as PowerBI, Tableau)
• Strong problem-solving abilities, a proactive approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. 

Your experience will be pivotal in the team, and your ability to tackle complex challenges will be a key aspect of your role as a medior market risk manager.
