In a nutshell
An exciting next career move for a professional with financial skills and who can build bridges, acting as Cost Controller you will be part of our Business Control team acting as a financial partner to the business controllers, Knab's Board members & leadership team. You will play a key role in the operational activities of the team but will also contribute to our financial data transformation and reporting. This role is also an exciting opportunity for someone entrepreneurial with a passion for building things. As a Cost Controller you are an important link between Finance and Business, but also Financial Control team (accounting). It is therefore second nature for you to perform the right financial (and non-financial) analyses to provide the best possible information for the organization. Every month you and the team will coordinate the monthly closing and organize the planning & control cycle.

This enables you to challenge and support the business in a proactive manner through reporting in visualization tools like Tableau and your input for reporting to our stakeholder in cooperation with teams of Financial Control and Capital Management.

We are on a journey to further professionalize our department and although we have made huge progress in the last two years, we see a lot of exciting challenges ahead of us. The team is in the center of the organization, touching each part of Knab's growing business, with a short line to the Procurement and Vendor management team. This also offers further opportunities to align and better control the finances of Knab (e.g., while working with teams such as Capital Management).

The Team
You will be part of a team that consists of 5 controllers, with 3 focused on business and 2 on cost, and you will report to the Head of Business Control, Financial Strategy.

In the position of Cost Controller, you are responsible for:

    • Perform the monthly closing cycle and reporting to our stakeholders;
    • Preparation for upcoming closing periods and analysis on previous closing periods to keep Knab in control;
    • (Supporting) setting up and monitoring of the budget and forecast cycles;
    • Optimize and automate management reports together with the team. Standardize!
    • Partner to provide adequate management information to help steer the growth of Knab;
    • (Supporting) Challenging and monitoring the business performance.

Your profile
There is no blueprint for being successful in this role, but we have the following profile in mind:

    • Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar academic programs;
    • 1 - 3years of experience in a financial role (e.g., financial / business controller);
    • Fluent in both English and Dutch;
    • Eager, independent, and proactive;
    • Affinity with FinTech and Innovation;
