Knab obtains personal information from you in various ways. For example, via a web form, this website or when you submit a job application. We respect your privacy and do everything we can to protect your personal information. When we collect and process personal information, we comply with data protection laws and have also set out everything in our own privacy policy. When does this privacy policy apply?

This privacy statement applies to all data that Knab collects and processes from applicants and users of its website, applications and other services. We may have a specific privacy policy for certain products and services. In this case, the specific privacy policy applies. We will clearly indicate this in that specific privacy statement.

Who is responsible for your information?

Knab consists of two legal entities: the savings, payment, investment and crowdfunding products are offered by Aegon Bank N.V. Aegon Bank N.V. is a member of the Aegon Group. Within the Aegon Group, Aegon Nederland N.V., with its registered office in The Hague, Aegonplein 50 (2591 TV) (hereinafter referred to as "Aegon"), is designated as the data controller for the processing of personal data by Aegon Bank N.V.

What information do we process and why?

In order to process your application, we process:
  • Contact details such as name, gender, address, email address and telephone number
  • Educational level, availability, curriculum vitae and motivation
  • Employment history such as previous employers, internships and references
  • Data from an assessment and/or personality test, if taken
  • Information from personal contacts and/or telephone conversations
We will only use your personal data, which you have filled in the web form or sent us in a cover letter, for recruitment and selection purposes. This enables us to select candidates and/or initiate an employment contract. For example, we may use your information to contact you in response to your application or to arrange an interview. We may also use your data to see if we have any vacancies that may be of interest to you and to contact you about them. Do we need more information from you to know whether you can do the job at Knab? Then we will also consult and process data from (public) sources such as Linkedin and other social media platforms.

How long do we keep your information?

We keep the personal data you provide, your CV and your motivation during the application process. We will keep this information in our files for a maximum of 1 year after the application process has ended. After this year, your data will be deleted. Would you prefer Knab not to keep your details for one year after the end of the application process? You can let us know by sending an email to [email protected]. Did you get the job and start working for Knab? Then your data will become part of your personnel file.

Provision to third parties

We sometimes use third parties to carry out the application process, such as recruitment or assessment agencies. They must also handle your data properly and carefully. We have clear agreements with them to ensure this. For example, they may only process your data to the extent necessary for the application process, they must keep your data secure, and they must comply with applicable laws and regulations. We have contractually agreed all of this with these third parties. If we are legally obliged to do so, we will also disclose your personal data to tax authorities, investigative bodies or supervisory authorities. These include De Nederlandse Bank (DNB), the Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and the Authority for Personal Data.

Security and fraud prevention

We naturally treat your data with care. We have taken various measures to protect your personal data against loss or unlawful processing. These include an information security policy, training our employees, secure servers and physical security of rooms where data is stored.

Your questions and rights

Objecting to the processing of (certain) personal data You can object to the processing of your personal data by Knab. However, you cannot object to every processing of personal data. Certain personal data is collected on a legal basis and we therefore have to process it.
No automated individual decision making/profiling As soon as Knab will use automated processing (without human intervention in the decision making) of your personal data, in which your personal aspects are taken into account in the decision made, you may object to this. If you object, we will process your request within the legally required time limit.
Transfer of personal data You may ask us to transfer the personal data you have provided to us to another organisation. We will then transfer that personal data within the legally required time limit.
Deletion of personal data In certain circumstances, you may ask us to delete your personal data. If we process your personal data on the basis of a legal obligation or in order to perform the contract, we will not be able to comply with this request.
