This privacy statement explains which of your data Knab processes via werkenbijknab.nl and HR and why we do this.

Knab receives your personal information in various ways. For example, via a web form, this web page or when you send a letter of application. We respect your privacy and do all we can to protect your personal data. When collecting and processing personal information, we comply with privacy laws and have also recorded everything in our own privacy statement. If there are any new developments, it is possible that Knab’s privacy statement changes. So we recommend that you visit our website for the most recent version. If you do this regularly, you will always be up-to-date on the latest changes. This privacy statement was last amended on 31 May 2018.

When does this privacy statement apply?

This privacy statement applies to all data that Knab collects and processes on applicants and users of its website, apps and other services. We may have a specific privacy statement for certain products and services. In that case, that specific privacy statement takes precedence. We will indicate that clearly in the relevant privacy statement.

Who is responsible for your data?

Knab consists of two legal entities: products in the field of saving, paying, investing and crowd-funding are offered by Aegon Bank N.V. Aegon Bank N.V. is part of the Aegon Group. Within the Aegon group, Aegon Nederland N.V., established in The Hague on Aegonplein 50 (2591 TV) (hereinafter ‘Aegon’), is designated as responsible party for the processing of personal data at Aegon Bank N.V.

Advice and mediation for mortgages and insurance is provided by Knab Advies & Bemiddeling N.V., established in Amsterdam on Thomas R. Malthusstraat 1-3 (1066JR). Knab Advies & Bemiddeling N.V. is also part of the Aegon Group and the responsible party, being registered with the Financial Markets Authority under number 12020760. Knab Advies & Bemiddeling N.V. is responsible for processing the personal data that it obtains in the course of its business operations. Both entities can also be jointly responsible. The two entities are referred to below as: ‘Knab’.

What data do we process and why?

We use the following data to process your application:

  • Contact details such as name, gender, address,      email and phone number
  • Education level, availability, CV and cover letter
  • Work history such as previous employers,      internships and references
  • Data from an assessment and/or personality test if      one has been taken
  • Information from personal contacts and/or      telephone calls

We use your personal data, which you have entered in the web form or sent to us via a letter of application, for recruitment and selection purposes only. This helps us choose between candidates and/or commence an employment contract. For example, we may use your data to contact you about your application or schedule a job interview. Additionally, based on your data we check to see if we have vacancies that may interest you and may contact you regarding these. Do we need more information from you to determine whether you might work for Knab? Then we also consult (public) sources, such as Linkedin and other social media platforms and process data from them.

How long do we keep your data?

We store the personal data you have given us, your CV and your cover letter during the application procedure. We keep this data in our portfolio for a maximum of 1 year after the end of the application procedure. After that year, your data is deleted. Would you prefer that Knab not retain your data until a year after the application procedure?  Let us know by sending an email to hr@knab.nl. Did you get the job and are you coming to work at Knab? Then your data will become part of your personnel file.

Release to third parties

We sometimes engage third parties to carry out the application procedure, for example recruitment or assessment agencies. They are also obliged to handle your data correctly and carefully. We have made clear agreements with them for this. For example, they may only process your data to the extent necessary for the application process, they must save it securely and must comply with applicable laws and regulations. This is all part of our contract with third parties. If we are legally obliged to do so, we also release your personal data to tax authorities, investigative bodies or regulators. These might include De Nederlandse Bank (DNB), the Financial Markets Authority (AFM) and the Personal Data Authority.

Security and combating fraud

Of course, we handle your data carefully. We have taken various measures to protect your personal data against loss or unlawful processing. This involves information security policies, employee training, secure servers and physical protection of areas where data is stored.

Access to your personal data
You can ask us what personal data we process about you. We will provide this data within the legally established period.

Correction of your personal data
You can ask us to make changes/improvements to your personal data.

Restriction of processing of personal data
Under certain conditions you have the right to limit the use of your personal data. We cannot honor a request for such limitation if your objection is to Knab processing your personal data based on a legal obligation or fulfillment of the contract.

Objecting to the processing of (certain) personal data
You can object to the processing of your personal data by Knab. However, you cannot object to every manner of processing of personal data. Some personal data is collected for legal reasons, so we must process it.

Not being subjected to automated individual decision-making/profiling
If Knab intends to use automated processing (without human intervention in decision-making) of your personal data in which your personal aspects are considered in the decision taken, you can object. If you raise such an objection, we will process your request within the legally determined period.

Transfer of personal data
You may ask us to transfer personal data that you provide to another organization. We will then provide this personal data within the legally determined period.

Deleting personal data
 Under certain conditions, you can ask us to delete your personal data. If we process your personal data based on a legal obligation or the fulfillment of the contract, we cannot honor a request to delete it.
