In a nutshell
As a Data Governance Officer you have a deep knowledge and passion for Data Governance and its value, you have  a good understanding of the challenges associated with implementation of a federated Data Governance model and are willing to  support Knab in its data management maturity journey.

 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Data Governance adoption, contribute to operationalization of Knab’s Data Governance operating model;
  • Contribute to further development and implementation of the bank-wide Data Management policies, standards and processes, compliance with BCBS 239 Principles;
  • Report to the Data Governance Board  on Data Governance performance indicators/ Data Risk indicators;
  • Guide and coach others in the field of Data Management, such as Data Stewards and Subject Matter Experts in the business domains,  actively contribute to the “data fluency” program;
  • Establish key stakeholders relationships and engaging audiences to communicate expectations regarding Data Management Policy compliance;
  • Functional management of Data Governance tool;
  • Identify and promote awareness and training initiatives in Data Management area  across Knab to increase the embedding of best Data Management practices in the day-to-day activities of the bank;
  • Support the introduction of the Data Governance tooling.

 

The department and team
The Expert Center Data and Analytics (ECDA) department consists of 30+  dedicated data professionals with a big heart for the business value of Data. ECDA consists of four teams: Data Science, Enterprise Data Office, Data Warehousing, Data Engineering & DBA. The department works with all functions of Knab and is Knab’s Center of Excellence for “all things data”.

We play a key role in managing Knab data as a strategic business asset, providing actionable insights and intelligent analytics, innovate with AI and enable Knab to become the data-driven #1 bank for entrepreneurs.

You will report to Manager Enterprise Data Office, while working closely with multiple stakeholders from various teams across Knab to help us achieve our common objectives.

 

Your Profile
There is no predefined route to become a great Data Governance Officer at Knab. But to be successful in this role, this is the kind of profile we have in mind:

  • Bachelor’s/ Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Management, Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science);
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Data Governance and other key areas of Data management;
  • In depth knowledge of Data Management frameworks (ex. DAMA -DMBOK, DCAM);
  • A good understanding of relevant Data Management related regulations (i.e BCBS 239, GDPR, EU Data governance act);
  • Effective communication: ability to explain to everyone, at every level in the organization what Data Governance means for them;
  • Certified data management professional;
  • Advanced influencing, persuasion and negotiation skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills;
  • Results oriented and analytical;
  • Very good English language skills both written and verbal;
  • Experience in financial services is a prerequisite.
