In a nutshell 

You will be developing and maintaining the core network infrastructure of the bank. To ensure Knab is in control, you, together with the network specialists and engineers in your team, focus on reliability, performance, and efficiency through simplification of the network infrastructure including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), network policies and routing setup.

You analyze problems and help determine a solution (or path). You find and implement the best solutions (sometimes in consultation with suppliers). Of course, you will be working on optimizing our Continuous Delivery and get room to improve the team as a whole.

The Team

The core network team is part of IT Functions & Foundations (ITFF) stream and focusses on developing and maintaining the core network infrastructure of the bank, including cloud native-, cloud hosted-, and on-prem elements. The team works closely with our Cloud Platform team to maintain our general infrastructure (private and public Cloud, VPNs and monitoring).

The ITFF department contains multiple Agile teams focusing centralized IT and supports Value Streams which focus on the specific customer propositions. As part of the ITFF stream, you report to the IT Chapter Lead. At Knab you will have the autonomy to pursue your own initiatives and responsibilities.

At Knab we are organized alongside Value Streams, consisting of multiple Scrum teams, operations departments and a support team. There are two Value Streams organized around our Customer Propositions: Daily Use and Financial Freedom. Next to the valuestreams there is also the supporting stream: IT Functions and Foundations. By organizing this way: we achieve more focus and a higher speed of delivery.

Skills and knowledge we would love to see
There is not a set route to become a great Network Specialist at Knab, but to be successful in this role, this is the profile we have in mind:  

• At least 4 years of experience as a network specialist and demonstrable experience with routing and switching protocols like BGP, OSPF, HSRP and MPLS; preferably experience in a multi-provider BGP routing environment.
• Experience with VRF, routing policies, filtering including troubleshooting, resource sharing, load sharing and multi-path.
• Experience with next generation firewalls up to layer 7 (for example Palo Alto, Fortigate, Checkpoint) including topics like security policies, filtering, malware and DDOS protection.
  Experience with datacenter components like firewalls, loadbalancers, routing infrastructure, network management tooling.
• Ability to design complex networks and guide staff engineers on deployment.
• Experience Ansible, Terraform, Python and AzureDevOps.
• Enthusiastic about cloud (native) network and firewall components, and ambition to learn.
